WHY THE IAWS?
The International Association of Women Sculptors was formed to support women who create sculpture in any medium.
The Founder, Angela Treat Lyon, who has been carving stone for over 20 years, has created the resource center she wishes she’d had when she first got going in carving – when there wasn’t even the internet! Hard to imagine now, isn’t it? Here’s what we provide:
GET ON TRACK AND LIVE YOUR DREAM: We provide inspiration and support for personal and marketing help through teleclasses, ebooks, audios and either group or one-on-one coaching.
PUBLICITY PREPARATION: We help you get ready to either go on the radio or TV (get over fear of public speaking, procrastination, fear of success, etc.); what to say, do, wear, bring with you, etc..
MEDIA KITS: We create publicity media kits for you with exactly what you need in order to be ready for the press when you have a show or event that is news worthy, or when they contact you. Includes items like videos and audio clips on your site, full 10 to 60-minute audio interviews designed to present you and your work to a specific audience, CD and DVD image presentations, and more.
ARTICLES & INTERVIEWS: We feature articles and interviews of artists and savvy, heart-centered business people who have dared to live their dreams, and who will help keep you inspired and on track.
FEATURED ARTISTS: We sporadically feature artists we come across whose work we think you’d like to see, or whose attitude or ideas are particularly exciting.
EVENTS: We are building a growing, comprehensive list of yearly events – like sculpture workshops, retreats and symposia – so you can just come here and see how to contact and sign up for the ones you want to go to instead of having to search all over the internet for them.
RESOURCES: We also provide information and resources you can use to either learn how or improve upon your skills in marketing and selling your art, so you don’t starve to death!

Some questions to ask yourself before you write would be, how can I help others with what I write? What did the author leave out that would be worthy of mentioning?
Thank you – that would help tremendously, we appreciate your being conscious about how your words affect others.
